FREE First Chapter Sample Edit
I offer a free sample edit of a first chapter, up to 5,000 words, to give you a taste of what the feedback you receive will look like, and to help ensure that we are a good fit for each other! This is an optional service, but one I offer to anyone interested in working with me for the first time. FREE 60-Minute Introductory Call
I also offer a free 1- hour “Hart-To-Heart” video call for anyone who would like to speak face-to-face. This can be helpful for making sure we are a good fit for each other, answering any questions you may have that aren’t answered on my FAQ page, or discussing details of a la carte packages or some of the discounts I offer. May availability can be seen on the Contact/Booking page, and a call can be scheduled at your convenience.

Discounts
All discounts are stackable up to 75% of the total project cost. The non-refundable 25% deposit for all projects may not be discounted.
All discounts are either single use (referral discounts) or on a case-by-case basis
Referral Discounts
10% discounts for referrals, which you can apply to any one future project of your choosing. Referral discounts are secured when the referred client pays their non-refundable down payment with me for a project. Each referral can only count towards one referring client. Referral discounts may be used for any future project, or saved as long as you wish. They do not expire, but are single-use. The referral must be clearly communicated to me by both parties, referring and referred, to be recorded.
Next in Series Discount.
10% discount for next books in an dynamic series (eg. The Hunger Games) or a static series (eg. Sherlock Holmes) which I have edited the previous book in. It is easier for me to read and edit in worlds and character casts I am already familiar with, and I want to pass that ease on to you! If it is an interconnected series of standalones (eg. The Chronicles of Narnia), feel free to reach out to me, and we can figure out on a case-by-case basis if there is enough continuity for me to be able to offer a discount around it.
RE-Edit Discounts
Are you wondering what to do if you make major changes to a manuscript after doing a developmental edit with me, and want to make sure you fixed the issues you intended to, and that you didn’t introduce new ones? I offer that as a pre-set package, 50% off my standard developmental package, right on my developmental editing packages page.
Diverse Writer and Protagonist Discount
For books featuring a BIPOC or LGBTQIA+ protagonist that are written by a BIPOC or LGBTQIA+ author, I want to do what I can to help marginalized and historically underrepresented stories get out there in their strongest forms! To that end, if you find there are any financial barriers to affording my services, please reach out. I'm committed to working with you to make sure you have quality editing at a cost/on a plan you can manage.

Developmental Edit + Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading
Want a Developmental Edit PLUS a Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading? Awesome! I am happy to discount the Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading services by 25% when added to any Developmental Editing services. All of the details for each level chosen are maintained. Combined with any Developmental Editing packages, a basic Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading service for either historical clothing or all things horses is $187.50, standard is $281.25, and premium is $375. For both Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading services together (historical clothing + all things horses) when added to a Developmental Editing service, the basic is $281.25, the standard is $375, and the premium is $562.50.
Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading + Smaller Offerings
Package discounts, with the smaller services offered as $100 add-ons are only available for a premium Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading service. For basic or standard Fact-Checking Expert Beta Reading services, they must be purchased as stand-alone services. The difference is whether or not I am doing a full read of the entire manuscript as part of the larger package already or not. Smaller offerings are always available as discounted add-ons to all of the Developmental Editing services, check out that page for more details!
